Rise up + Rebuild program
The Rise Up + Rebuild (RURB) Workshop Series was created in response to community needs after the devastating 2020 Almeda fire. Talent Maker City, Girls Build and many community partners came together to create a program where furniture items are made to help families in need while also providing student builders hands-on education in tool safety, construction methods, group collaboration, and effective communication. The RURB program has also provided a means to address the students own trauma through hands-on learning and the confidence that comes with building skills, self-sufficiency and giving back to their community.
Recovery does not happen overnight and it will take years for our communities to return to a place of safety, security, and stability. TMC and partners will continue to build on the success of the Rise Up + Rebuild Program to continue to serve community needs through tangible resources and healing, hands-on education programs. We hope you will join us as we rise up and rebuild, together!
