We build a more connected, prosperous, and resilient community by making things together.

Education programs

Our educational programs promote equity as we serve students who may typically face educational barriers. Through partnerships with Phoenix-Talent Schools, the Oregon Youth Authority, Juvenile Detention Education Programs, Logos Charter School, and the Maslow Project, we are working to reduce opportunity gaps by teaching students valuable STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) skills. These skills promote pathways to high-wage, high-demand job opportunities. Our robust afterschool and summer programs include laser engraving, ceramics, robotics, sewing, screenprinting, video production, coding, carpentry courses, and more!

Community workshops

Our creative, hands-on community workshops are open to anyone interested in making something great. From basic carpentry, ceramics, to 3D printing, watercolors, and sewing, we support novice makers wanting to learn something new as well as more experienced artists looking to advance their skills. We find when we make together, we build community. Workshop participants and instructors are able to authentically connect and get to know their neighbors and folks from all across Southern Oregon. This makes our workshops more than just a way to learn a new skill, but a way to build genuine connections.

business support

We partner with a number of Southern Oregon businesses and nonprofits who use the makerspace as a resource for tools, equipment, and skill sharing  to create their own marketing materials, signage, merchandise, and a broad range of ideas that they present. We’ve made everything from t-shirts to tap handles together! No business is alike, and each one has their own dreams and visions for bringing something new to the table.  TMC comes alongside them to materialize their idea into a reality.  Because of our central location in Southern Oregon, we are able to serve businesses across the valley.  Our community makerspace  has been especially important for Talent businesses rebuilding after the devastating 2020 Almeda fire.

Community events

Día de los Muertos Celebrations, Lights on Bikes, and the Big Gay Workshop are just a few of our community events that bring us together for festivity, cultural celebration, and fun. You may also find us fixing bikes during Medford Open Streets, making percussion instruments during Ashland World Music Festival, stenciling totes during the Talent Harvest Festival, painting ceramic calaveras for the Day of the Dead race, or decorating ornaments for Talent’s Annual Lighting of the Tree. If we can be a part of bringing our Southern Oregon community together, we’ll be there.

For nonprofits planning public events, we have a lending library of handmade lawn games and activities to engage children and adults alike. If you are a nonprofit or CBO, contact us to check out our cornhole, paint-by-grid, connect-4, or giant jenga games. Or, better yet, contact us to help you and your team custom create your own versions of these games (and more)!

nonprofit & Community partners

We cherish our Southern Oregon nonprofit and community partners. We’ve worked hard to foster relationships with organizations that share TMC’s values and mission. We offer nonprofit pricing on everything from screenprinted swag to private, team-building workshops for staff. Because of the wide range of tools and equipment in our makerspace, we can help you make tote bags, custom signs, or almost anything else you can think of! We love exploring new ideas and projects. We never keep a skill to ourselves, so we seek out opportunities to bring others alongside our team as we bring a vision to life.
