Bottle Drop Fund

The Bottle Drop Fund was created to further the goal of Oregon’s innovative Bottle Bill: deploying creative policy solutions to keep Oregon beautiful, enhance recycling, protect the environment and help vulnerable people.

Talent Maker City utilized these funds to further our skill-building and job training for students and adults in our community, with the goal of increasing employability in our region.

With critical support from the Bottle Drop Fund, TMC has been able to sustain and enhance our efforts to provide hands-on programming to underserved populations relevant to Career Technical Education and entry into the workforce.

This support is crucial in our efforts to expand workforce development programming, particularly in construction related fields to address local housing needs and career pathway development for those who have been directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and the Almeda Fire.

This year, our students learned how to make beds with power tools, how to use a CNC machine, design and create 3D printed objects, perform basic bike maintenance, and how to program robots.

Students also learned valuable employability skills like creativity, communication, teamwork, responsibility, problem solving and decision making.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our mission of building a more prosperous and connected community by making things together, thanks to funding from the Bottle Drop Fund.
